On a brightly lit night, a music painting with profound artistic conception and brilliant ink charm is in the making. A bright, crisp sound of plucked strings gradually intertwines with the timbres of several instruments, just like ink drops unfurling on a rice paper, in a glorious feast of Freehand Landscape created by Chinese music.
The Daruan concerto Be Better Daily presented by the Macao Orchestra’s Ruan player Zhu Wenyao portrays a yearning for a better tomorrow through a jazzy and humorous musical language. In addition, the concert features Hymn, the 6th piece from the suite Bach’s Musical Melodies composed by renowned contemporary Chinese composer Tang Jianping on the 250th anniversary of J. S. Bach’s death. The work combines Prelude No. 1 from Well Tempered Clavier by Bach and melodies of ancient Chinese Buddhist tunes, presenting a spiritual dialogue between Eastern and Western cultures.
Come enjoy this superb musical feast on a brilliant night!
