For hundreds of years, the enchanting plucked string music of the Orient has had a gentle and touching tone, full of rich cultural connotations.
Famous Yangqin virtuoso Zhang Gaoxiang has arranged a special programme for music fans. The plucked-string instruments ensemble “Quietly” depicts that the nature begins silently, then blossoms and finally returns to silence. Zhongruan and Cello jointly perform the piece, with the graceful and magnificent sound. The dialogue between Pipa and Ruan demonstrates the virtuosity of plucking. “The Sunshine on Tashkurgan” fully demonstrates the ethnic characteristics through the folk music melodies and instruments of the Tajik in Xinjiang.
