Doming Lam is known as “the father of Hong Kong modern music”, and “one of the top five maestros in Asia”. He has been dedicated to exploring the development of Chinese music by applying contemporary techniques to traditional tunes and by pioneering new orchestral trends. His work Insect World has provided much valuable inspiration to many outstanding composers.
In this concert, internationally renowned conductor Tsung Yeh, recipient of the Cultural Medallion from the Government of Singapore, its highest honour in the cultural field, will direct the Macao Chinese Orchestra and local excellent pianist Cecilia Long to present Moonlight over the Spring River and The Lament of Lady Zhaojun. As a gifted pianist Cecilia has been invited to be part of the jury in international competitions, and Doming Lam praised her as the “ambassador of my new music”.
