“The Glamour” Bowed-string Music Concert

Chinese stringed instruments cover a wide range of timbral styles, from the soft and gentle to the grandiose, and are capable of expressing deep emotions. The annual show of the orchestra’s string section, under the artistic direction of renowned contemporary erhu master Deng Jiandong, is a collection of Chinese operas, folk music and traditional works from different regions. The strong and soft sound of huqin, together with the rich harmonies of the orchestra, brought out the colorful melody of those glamorous pieces.
